Ah summer time. What is your favorite memory of summer? It's a good estimate that at least 50% of your favorite summer memories involve a fruit. Whether it's watermelon juice dribbling down your chin, picking raspberries with your cousins, munching on peach pie, or even just a fruit flavored popsicle - Summer is arguably the best season for fruit! With that said, we hope to stir some memories along with some motivation to eat more fruit by presenting some top summer fruits and their benefits. Enjoy!

 

Watermelon

Watermelon is a yummy, flavored fruit and it contains 90% water that we usually have during summer in sort to keep our bodies hydrated. It is also high in Vitamins A & C both of which are powerful anti-oxidants along with lycopene and amino acids.

 

Strawberries

Strawberries are delicious and nutrient-rich fruit. On of the best sources of Vitamin C, it efficiently protects cells from oxidation (aka damage) from free radicals. It also helps tighten the skin and prevent leukemia.

 

Limes

Limes are also Vitamin C powerhouses! Some of the benefits of limes include easing constipation, improved mouth health, and brighter skin. Start each day with the juice of 1 lime in a class of cold water.

 

Mangoes

Mango is trending now but did you know it is also a nutritionally rich? Yep! It is a very rich source of potassium, vitamin C and E. This means eating mango will repair cells and give you beautiful skin.

 

Papayas

Papayas is packed with fiber, enzymes, and nutrients such as vitamin C & carotenes. Between the benefits and the color eat a papaya will have you ready for a vacation in the tropics.

 

Huckleberries
